Interview with Sharron Angle, Republican Candidate for Senate in Nevada

Today we are honored to have Sharron Angle answer some of our questions. Ms. Angle is running for the Republican nomination for Senate in Nevada and hopes to bring down Harry Reid this November. Ms. Angle is widely celebrated by the Tea Party movement in her state and has recently shot up in the polls; feel free to visit her campaign site here. Ms. Angle's main opponent, Sue Lowden, was also interviewed by Jumping in Pools recently. I'd like to personally thank Ms. Angle for an excellent interview:

Why are you the best choice for Nevada?

I have the training and I am battle tested. I have a proven record that Nevadans and Americans can trust. It is not what I say I will do, but what I have done and will continue to do after I am elected to the US Senate. I honor both the law and the oath and will reject back door deals and closed secret meetings. I fully support the US Constitution. My work in the Nevada State Legislature demonstrates that I have a reputation of my word being my bond. One specific example is the vote I cast against the split roll property taxes that violated Nevada’s constitutional uniform and equal property tax provision. My vote was the only vote cast for the protection of the Nevada Constitution. My overall political philosophy is that proper government exists only by the consent of the governed and government must be restrained from intruding into the freedoms of its citizens. In the Nevada State Legislature, I consistently fought for smaller and more efficient government, traditional values, lower taxes and the right of the people to vote and petition.

What is your opinion of the illegal immigration laws in Arizona?

I support the Arizona law. If the federal government will not enforce the federal law, we must do it at the State level.

What are your feelings on Sue Lowden?

Mrs. Lowden has regrettably chosen to go against her very own pledge to not say anything negative about a fellow Republican. This race is not about picking each other apart. It is about defeating Reid. I look forward to her support after the primary should I win.

What is your opinion of the Tea Parties that have swept the country over the last year?

I am endorsed by the Tea Party Express. I fully support the goal to unite conservative Americans against the takeover of our Country by the extreme left agenda.

The Health Care Bill that President Obama and Democrats in Congress passed, even though the majority of the American public opposed it. Do you believe that politicians should listen to their constituents?

Yes.

Is there an important issue that you believe the Obama Administration is ignoring?

We must balance our budget, cut taxes and stop the spending.

Anything more you would like to add?

My record has been carefully scrutinized by over 40 organizations and individuals who have given me their endorsement. These include Mark Levin, Lars Larsen, Phyllis Schlafly, Pat Boone, Gun Owners of America, Tea Party Express, Veterans in Politics, Freedom Works, Nevada Concerned Citizens, Nevada Republican Assembly, Nevada Homeschool Network and several others. I am the only candidate who can bring a coalition of willing people to defeat Harry Reid. I have run a clean campaign and will be able to bring Republicans back together in united front to retire Reid.

Interview With Ben Quayle, Son of Dan Quayle and Candidate for Congress

Today we are honored to have Ben Quayle answer our questions. Mr. Quayle is not only the son of former-Vice President Dan Quayle, but a politician as well. Ben Quayle is running for Congress in Arizona's 3rd District; he is also an accomplished attorney. Feel free to check out his campaign site here. I'd like to personally thank Mr. Quayle for an excellent interview:

Mr. Quayle, why are you the best choice for Arizona's Third District?

I am not a career politician. I am not going to Washington to rub elbows with lobbyists. I will represent our conservative values in the 3rd district with integrity and energy.

What plans do you have to help the United States health care system?

First, we have to repeal Obamacare. We don't need more burdens on business and bureaucrats making decisions that doctors and patients should be making. We need real reform and lower costs. We need to allow Americans to purchase insurance across State lines. We need tort reform to prevent frivolous lawsuits from driving up costs. We need to allow Americans to choose their own coverage and make insurance companies compete for their business.

What are your feelings on illegal immigration? How can we fix it?

The first priority is to secure the border. President Obama and Speaker Pelosi have failed in their responsibility to protect us. They have made a greater political effort to bring the masterminds of 9/11 to the United States than they have to keep drug smugglers, illegal aliens, and would-be terrorists out of the United States. We need border security now.

Your father was Vice President under George H.W. Bush. What lessons about politics have you learned from him?

I learned the value of integrity, discipline, and hard work from my father. Politics can be tough, but you have to stand up for what is right, stay focused, and get the job done.

If elected, would you consider a run for President in several years, be it 2012 or later?

My only ambition in politics is to represent the 3rd district and meet the challenges to our country we face today. I am not a career politician, and this job isn't a stepping stone. We have get this country on the right track: get spending under control, secure the border and restore America's leadership in the world. That's what I am focused on.

Are there any important issues that you believe that the Administration is ignoring?

I think the national debt and the continuing deficit is the greatest challenge we face and the Administration and Congress are do worse than ignoring it, they are making it worse with the reckless spending spree that they are on. We need to cut spending now before we become Greece.

Would you like to add anything?

Thank you for allowing me to post on your site. To all your readers, I urge you to get involved in this election. Find a conservative to support and work hard to elect that person. This is a critical election. We have stark choice: Democrats, Debt, dependency and decline or Republicans, prosperity, traditional values and national strength. We can take our country back.
